For boaters, there are more than a half dozen boat launch ramps scattered around the lake. Additionally there are plenty of places to portage a car top boat, canoe or kayak. Almost a dozen marinas offer services, gas, boat rentals, sundries, food, groceries, fishing tackle, and more. If you prefer to fish from the bank, there are multiple areas with public access. Multiple restaurants around the lake, particularly the west side, offer a wide variety of foods and dining experiences. Populated with healthy populations of bass, trout, sunfish, perch, salmon and pickerel it is a quality fishery year round. During winter, once the ice is safe, the lake attracts fishing enthusiasts who enjoy ice fishing. The majority of the campgrounds and RV parks are located on the western side of the lake, but there are several all around the lake.
