An excellent boating lake that's considered a premiere bass factory, Rodman Reservoir aka Lake Ocklawaha is located in northeast Florida. Several boat launch serve the boating public for launching pleasure boats, sailboats, pontoons and fishing boats. There is a canoe and kayak launch at Rodman Dam. Anglers can explore 13,000 surface acres and about 50 miles of shoreline in search of the many fish species living in Rodman Reservoir. Big bass are the main draw here, and the fishing for these largemouth bass can often be exceptional. Also residing in the lake are catfish, crappie, bluegill, bowfin and several species of sunfish. There are quite a few sections of the shoreline open to fishing from the bank, especially if you mind a bit of walking.
