With primary access through Lake Sammamish State Park, Lake Sammamish is a great destination for boating and fishing. There are a few boat ramps at private resorts, but public launching of a pleasure or fishing boat is available at the Lake Sammamish State Park boat launch ramp. The 4,900-acre, located lake in the west-central part of the state, 5 miles east of Bellevue, has about 20 miles of shoreline. Bass and sunfish anglers have hundreds of boat docks to fish as most of the lake is lined with docks. Some shoreline fishing is available at the park for those wishing to fish from the bank.
