Covering , West Point Lake is a 35-mile stretch of the Chattahoochee River. This 26,000-acre lake along the GA - AL border provides over 500 miles of shoreline for fishing, boating and vacationing. Camping and lodging options are available on either side of the border. There are several marinas on the lake including Southern Harbor Resort Marina, which is the only marina in the AL section of the lake. West Point is a haven for bass, crappie, catfish hybrid stripers and sunfish. A fishing license from either state allows fishing these waters from a boat (except upstream from the GA Hwy 109 bridge). Quality spotted bass fishing is a primary attraction to anglers, but don't be surprised if you don't hang a trophy largemouth along the way. Plenty of pockets and creek channels branch out in all directions and create a multitude of fishing holes to explore.
