Kayaks, canoes and small fishing boats can be portaged from many of the shoreline fishing locations. Marinas, stores, camping and lodging are also scattered around the lake for convenience. A smallmouth bass haven with a long-standing reputation, it is also home to largemouth and spotted bass. Crappie, catfish, bluegill, white bass, yellow perch and both stripers and hybrid stripers also populate the lake and offer a multitude of fishing opportunities. Boat docks, timber, bluffs and some backwater brush provide the primary cover for predator fish species.
