By far the most popular of the Twin Lakes, Washinee Lake (West Twin Lake) is a 290-acre lake located in the far northwest corner of Connecticut. The lake is open to all types of boats. Canoes and kayaks are very popular and power boats can launch at a for-fee boat launch ramp. A marina and boat rentals are available on connected Washining Lake. There is limited access for fishing from the bank, and little or no public parking. Anglers will find almost 5 miles of shoreline providing cover for a variety of fish species. Bass, perch, kokanee, pickerel and sunfish are all popular here.
