Lac des Allemands, Louisiana

Boating, camping and fishing at Lac des Allemands

A favorite of local crappie fishermen, Lac des Allemands, aka Lake Des Allemands is a 12,000-acre lake in the southeastern part of the state, at Des Allemands. This boating paradise has about 50 miles of shoreline with plenty of room for water skiing and pleasure boating. Several boat launch ramps are available on the main lake and in tributaries. Bass, crappie, catfish, bream and several sunfish thrive here. There are areas with access to the shore for bank fishing, but a boat, kayak or canoe is a better approach for this lake. Spring and fall are ideal times to fish here, and in summer the weather can be hot - but so can the crappie fishing, boating, sightseeing and water sports.
