Home to excellent watersports and fishing, Lake Maurepas is a 58,000-acre lake in the south central part of the state, at the city of Maurepas, LA. Over 40 miles of shoreline, lined with cypress trees and vegetation, await anglers and boaters. There are two main boat launch ramps, Pete's Landing Boat Launch and the Port Manchac boat ramp off Highway 15. Pleasure, pontoon and fishing boats are recommended for the main lake area, but kayaks, canoes and jon boats work well for fishing and sightseeing in the shallows, rivers and bayous.
