A 26,000-acre paradise for boating, West Point Lake is a 35-mile stretch of the Chattahoochee River, along the GA - AL border. This provides 525 miles of shoreline for fishing, boating, watersports, picnicking and vacationing. Camping and lodging options are available in either state. A fishing license from either state allows fishing these waters from a boat (note: a GA license is required for fishing upstream from the GA Hwy 109 bridge). Species in the lake include bass, crappie, catfish hybrid stripers and sunfish. Quality spotted bass fishing attracts many anglers, and the lake also has a reputation for occasional lunker largemouth bass. Plenty of creek channels flow into the lake from all directions creating excellent fishing conditions all over the lake.
